Shelly and her family couldn't believe it was real. The NCDHHS was contacting Shelly because she'd won the first million-dollar drawing in the vaccine lottery. The family - coincidentally - has known 2 Wants To Know's Tanya Rivera for several years, so when they weren't sure, they called her!
“At one point it was getting serious, and I said, call Tanya, she'll know,” Shelly's husband Bill said.
“I called [Bill] and said, come home. They're getting ready to send me a link,” Shelly recalled.
That Zoom link changed everything.
“Mandy Cohen's face popped up and I thought, this is real, this is actually real,” Shelly said.
