Carl Dean Pickering Sr., age 73, of Adrian,MI, died Thursday, March 28, surrounded by those who loved him. 
Carl was born December 3, 1950, in Adrian, MI. to Claude and Ruby (Barnett) Pickering. Carl married Jeanne (Fairburn) Pickering in 1969. 

Carl was an active member of The Church of our Lord Jesus Christ. Carl worked many years and retired from Dura Corporation in Adrian, MI. Carl loved camping with his family and spending most mornings with family and/or friends enjoying his favorite meal,breakfast. Carl also enjoyed weekly dinners with Jeanne at El Chaps (Grasshopper).

Carl is survived by four children Carla Furman (Phillip Dooley), Carl (Candi) Pickering Jr., Anthony Pickering (Amy Henry), and Darrell (Dena) Pickering. Grandchildren Sharee (Kyle) Yarger, Andrea (Ben) Webb, Tyler White Pickering, Nicholas Bowen-Pickering, Seth Bucklew, Ethan Kosmyna, Katelyn, Thea, Audrey, Carly, and Cayle Pickering. Great grandchildren Logan and Leah Boellner, Grayson, Gavin and Marlow Webb, Finnegan and Jemma Yarger. In addition, Carl is survived by three siblings, David (Tiffany) Pickering, Sally (Crist) Goll, Claudia Pickering, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Carl in death are his parents Claude and Ruby Pickering, brother Mike Pickering, sister Emma Pickering, and niece in infancy Elizabeth Nicole Goll. 

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Purse Martinez Funeral Home, Tecumseh, MI, and one hour prior to funeral services at the church on Friday. 

Celebration of life to follow the next day, Friday, April 26, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at The Church of our Lord Jesus Christ, Adrian, MI. officiated by Pastor Ric Strawcutter.

Memorial contributions can be made to Carl’s children to help offset funeral cost.

Jeanne Pickering, age 70, of Adrian, MI, passed away, April 12, 2024. Jeanne was born February 21, 1954, in Lima, OH,, the daughter of Foster and Dorothy (Eversole) Fairburn. Jeanne married Carl Dean Pickering Sr. in 1969. Jeanne was an active member of The Church of our Lord Jesus Christ. 

Jeanne retired from Libby-Owens-Ford after many years. Jeanne loved spending time with her family camping. She also enjoyed going to breakfast with friends and family many times a week, and weekly dinners at El Chaps (Grasshopper) with Carl. 

Jeanne is survived by four children Carla Furman (Phillip Dooley), Carl Dean (Candi) Pickering Jr., Anthony Pickering (Amy Henry), and Darrell (Dena) Pickering. Eleven grandchildren Sharee (Kyle) Yarger, Andrea (Ben) Webb, Tyler White Pickering, Nicholas Bowen-Pickering, Seth Bucklew, Ethan Kosmyna, Katelyn, Thea, Audrey, Carly, and Cayle Pickering. Seven great grandchildren Logan and Leah Boellner, Grayson, Gavin and Marlow Webb, Finnegan and Jemma Yarger. Preceding Jeanne in death is her loving life partner Carl, her parents Foster and Dorthy, brother Robert Pratt, sister Kathy Miller, brother in laws Charles Miller, Douglas Bradish, David Black. 

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Purse Martinez Funeral Home, Tecumseh, MI. 

Celebration of life to follow the next day, Friday, April 26, 2024 at 12:00 Noon at The Church of our Lord Jesus Christ, Adrian, MI. officiated by Pastor Ric Strawcutter.
