TRANSCRIPT:
Hello Guys, Namaste, welcome back to AndroTrix. Oneplus recently pushed out the Android Oreo update to Oneplus 3 and the Oneplus 3T out of nowhere and everyone was surprised. In fact, they released the oreo for Oneplus 3/3T before they release it for 5 which definitely made the users happy! Anyway, I made a video of its tips and tricks when it was launched earlier and gave my review about it so this will be an update of both of them where I'll show you some tips and tricks as well as I'll give a quick review of Oneplus 3T on Android Oreo. So let's get started.
The update was pushed to all the devices long back but if you still haven't received the OTA update, please follow the link in the description box below it'll give a step by step guide to getting the Oreo update on Oneplus 3/Oneplus 3T.
So now that you are updated to oreo let me quickly go through the new features of it.
There's a new notification panel which gives 6 quick toggles on first swipe which can be changed by swiping down and clicking on the edit key right beside the settings toggle. The notification icons also show up in monochrome and as soon as you click on the notification bar it'll bring the colors into the logo which is another tiny detail of the OP oreo.
Moving on to the settings, now you have an option to change the font to Oneplus slate which was released with OP5, although I would have loved if they allowed us to change it to any font of our liking like you can do on Samsung devices.
Oneplus 5T has the native face lock feature which you can which detects your face and unlocks it directly, however, all other devices cannot directly bring you the home screen even after recognising the face, so my friend meemansak from meemansak tech has made an awesome video to get that on any android device which I'm using currently as you can see. I'll link it down if you want it on your android device.
Inside the app's settings, there is a new feature of parallel apps which allows you to have two accounts for any app of your choice, you can have two Whatsapp, two clash of clan accounts or whatever you wish for. Not only that you also get the notification dots on all the apps which is pretty useful and was lacking on android since years.
If you don't get notification dots for any apps you can simply click and hold it and go to settings and in there you'll see the allow notification dots options which you have to turn on.
It also has a new feature called picture in picture mode which is very useful however it not implemented properly as of now as it only supports the google maps which is pretty disappointing. if I'm doing something wrong, please correct me in the comments as I'm only able to get it working on Google maps.
Now if you are a gamer, it also has the Gaming- do not disturb mode which will automatically turn the calls on speaker and disable the power and volume buttons whenever you are playing any game on this device.
Now coming to the thing which I hate the most about this device, well it is the Android Oreo Emojis, it sucks at another level and I couldn't take it anymore. so I downloaded the stock emojis and flashed it on my device. I'll leave a link on how to do this in the description box below if you want to get these as well.
So that's pretty much for this video guys. I hope you enjoyed it, let me know if you want me to review the device again
