The Exile: Sprouting and A Gifted Rose are unique new World Quests added with Genshin Impact’s 3.1 update, which brought with it the expansive new desert region in the west of Sumeru, the continuation of the Archon storyline, new characters and weapons to collect, and tons more side-questing to experience.
What makes these World Quests unique is their obscurity and that they are among the few time-gated quests in Genshin Impact. The Exile quest series (beginning with The Exile: Sprouting) and A Gifted Rose are a series of world quests, several of which are hidden, that take place in Aaru Village. Players will need to use their intuition as well as have patience as they complete this quest series over the period of six days. Importantly, these are real-life days, not in-game days meaning players cannot use the Pass Time function to progress the quest sooner.
Luckily, we have you covered with a guide on how to start The Exile: Sprouting, how to complete A Gifted Rose, as well as the generous rewards for doing so!
How to Start The Exile: Sprouting World Quest
To begin The Exile World Quest series, players need to acquire The Exile: Sprouting World Quest from Sabbah, an NPC in Aaru Village, Sumeru. Sabbah is located to the left of the main road heading from the Statue of the Seven, near the entrance to Aaru Village.
Walking up to Sabbah will automatically trigger a cutscene involving a boy singing a rhyme local to Sumeru about roses. After this, players can talk to Sabbah and she will explain that it is her wish to grow Sumeru Roses, despite the desert being largely averse to agriculture due to their infertile sands.
Nevertheless, Sabbah has three Sumeru Rose seeds in plant pots next to her and she asks that the Traveler help them grow in the hostile desert climate through the use of Dendro, the newly usable element added to Genshin Impact with the 3.0 update. This marks Day 1 of The Exile World Quest-chain.
