I. REJOICE ALWAYS
4 For whatever things were written before were written for our learning, that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. - ROMANS 15:4 (NKJV)
8 Now there were in the same country shepherds living out in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. - LUKE 2:8-9 (NKJV)
II. JOY IS HERE
8 That night there were shepherds staying in the fields nearby, guarding their flocks of sheep. - LUKE 2:8 (NLT)
9 And behold, an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were greatly afraid. 10 Then the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. 11 For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be the sign to you: You will find a Babe wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger.” - LUKE 2:9-12 (NKJV)

III. JOY IS A JOURNEY
10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. - MATTHEW 2:10 (NKJV)
5 For His anger is but for a moment,
His favor is for life; -
Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the morning. - PSALMS 30:5 (NKJV)
20 Most assuredly, I say to you that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; and you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned into joy. - JOHN 16:20 (NKJV)
13 Let them praise the name of the Lord,
For His name alone is exalted;
His glory is above the earth and heaven. - PSALMS 148:13 (NKJV)

IV. JOY IS SCARY

V. JOY IS A DIFFICULT CHOICE
46 And Mary said: “My soul magnifies the Lord,
47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
48 For He has regarded the lowly state of His maidservant;
For behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed. - LUKE 1:46-48 (NKJV)
29 But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. 30 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. - LUKE 1:29-30 (NKJV)
