“The Pakistani troops rained bullets on me, but I didn't move. At that moment, I knew that as long as they didn't shoot my head or my heart, I would survive. They could cut off my legs and my arms, but I wouldn’t say a word. I decided—I would live, and I would fight. Today, if you pricked me with a needle, I would feel unbearable pain, but at that time, as I was shot again and again, I felt no pain, just determination to keep going."
At just 19, Honorary Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav became the youngest Param Vir Chakra recipient for his insurmountable bravery in the Kargil War. He was shot 17 times, tortured inhumanely and taken for dead by the Pakistani Army. But through sheer resilience and devotion to his country, he kept up the fight and became the sole survivor of Tiger Hill.
Yogendraji recounts the realities of war first hand and breaks down the military training that goes into shaping a Ghatak Warrior’s mindset. Learn how to funnel purpose into action, the key to decision making in high pressure situations and the best attitude to have towards fear.
In this episode of Fittr presents Realign, we decode the inner workings of a soldier's mind in a complete masterclass on the power of determination, fortitude and survival in the face of adversity.
