Everett Kelly, national president of the American Federation of Government Employees, and Imam Muhammad Abdul-Aleem of the Masjidullah Mosque in West Oak Lane, Pennsylvania, gave the invocation Thursday on the final night of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, an evening focused on the future as Kamala Harris formally accepts her party’s nomination for president.
Harris’ speech is her first official chance to offer her vision for the country to voters. Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz formally accepted the vice presidential nomination the day before.
