In this video, Keith Barker covers the incident response objectives that form the core of CompTIA's CySA+ certification exam. With a hands-on focus, this vendor-neutral Cybersecurity Analyst course will teach you how to identify and classify threats and their impact on an organization, how to use forensic tools during an investigation, and how to support incident response and recovery.

Keith opens the video by using an analogy of putting together a piece of furniture with a relatively detailed set of instructions. The first time you execute these instructions, there’s a learning curve that will slow down the process. After you’ve done it a few times, however, your efficiency ramps up significantly. This is similar to the various IT frameworks that you can leverage by taking advantage of what’s already been developed by picking and choosing the parts you need to facilitate a secure IT environment.

Some of the frameworks he discusses include NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology), ISO (International Organization for Standardization), COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology), SABSA (Sherwood Applied Business Security Architecture), TOGAF (The Open Group Architecture Framework), and ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library).

He breaks each of these down into their individual domains, then talks about some of the advantages each can offer.
