Marvel Television's Agatha All Along may have just found an ideal way to explain how the Scarlet Witch will return to the MCU. As the first official spinoff from 2021's WandaVision, the plot of Agatha All Along is greatly shaped by Wanda Maximoff's Scarlet Witch, even though she hasn't actually appeared in this new series. The show not only looks into the consequences of the Scarlet Witch's takeover of Westview but also delves into the chaos she caused for Kathryn Hahn's character, Agatha Harkness. Additionally, one of her superpowered sons makes a notable return.
Julian Hilliard played Billy Maximoff, also known as the young Wiccan, in WandaVision, but he disappeared when the Scarlet Witch broke her magical Hex around Westview, New Jersey. In Agatha All Along, Billy Maximoff makes a comeback to the MCU, now portrayed by Joe Locke from Heartstopper. This significant change was addressed in episode 6 of Agatha All Along, titled "Familiar By Thy Side." This episode might have provided Marvel Studios with a great way to explain the Scarlet Witch's return, even after her apparent demise in the MCU's Phase 4.
After Joe Locke's enigmatic "Teen" revealed himself as Wiccan in the closing moments of Agatha All Along episode 5, "Darkest Hour or Wake Thy Power," episode 6 provided further details about his return to the MCU. In this episode, viewers met Joe Locke's William Kaplan, who was celebrating his Bar Mitzvah in Eastview on the same day that the series finale of WandaVision took place in Westview. His celebration was abruptly interrupted when the Scarlet Witch started to break down the Hex, leading to widespread panic. This chaos ultimately resulted in the Kaplans being driven off the road, tragically cutting William's life short.
