Are you interested in owning a #firearm? One of the pillars of owning a #gun is #safety. And in order to be safe around #firearms, you need to be able to PROVE that a firearm is clear. In this video, we will PROVE a #boltaction #rifle and a #semiautomatic rifle safe. But the same steps apply to all firearms. To PROVE our firearms safe, we must:

Point the firearm in the safest available direction.
Remove all cartridges (including magazines and from within the chamber)
Observe the chamber to ensure it is empty.
Verify the feeding path (usually the magazine well, up to the action)
Examine the bore that it is free of obstructions using a light, or better yet, a bore snake or cleaning rod.

Following these steps will not only help to keep you and others safe when around firearms, but will help you pass the #CFSC (Canadian Firearm Safety Course) required to get a PAL (Possession & Acquisition License) as it is a key component in ensuring you handle firearms in a safe way.
