2018 Hyundai Santro features new exteriors and feature loaded interiors. It is presented in 9 trims and seven exterior color shades. 2018 Hyundai Santro will continue with its tall boy stance as was seen on its earlier counterpart which dominated the Indian hatchback segment for more than a decade but was discontinued in 2015.
Its exterior will be seen with a new Signature Cascade Grille with chrome surrounds, black cladding on its front bumper and lower sides while exterior mirrors will also sport the black color scheme. It will also receive a new tailgate design and tail lamps with a new spoiler at the rear and new alloy wheels.
The 2018 Hyundai Santro is likely to come in 4 variants - Era, Magna, Asta and Sportz. We expect the Sportz and the Asta model to get a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment setup that will support Bluetooth, mirror link and inbuilt navigation. More importantly though, the infotainment setup will also - for the first time in class - support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Power on the all-new Hyundai Santro will come from only the 1.1-litre, Epsilon family engine that is tuned to produce 68 bhp of power and 99 Nm of peak torque. The engine is a 4-cylinder motor that is already ready to meet the future BS6 regulations when they kick in in 2020. The new Santro will also get a factory fitted CNG option with an 8 kg capacity tank. The CNG version though, will have the motor de-tuned to 58 bhp, while the torque output will remain the same at 99 Nm.
The Santro will replace the Eon in the company's line-up in India and will be the company's entry level hatchback in the country. This will see it take on cars like the Maruti Suzuki Celerio, Renault Kwid, Tata Tiago among others and this means that the pricing will be around the ₹ 4 lakh bracket. However, it is very likely that the company will undercut its rivals and the base variant will be closer to the ₹ 3.85 lakh mark. The introductory prices are applicable on the first 50,000 units and Hyundai has made sure that there'll be no changes in the prices for the first 50,000 customers.
