In this talk Mahmoud Mohieldin takes us through the state of the world via the lens of public investments. COVID19 has been perhaps this generations biggest challenge so far, with bigger questions on the horizon, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Climate Change.
As we enter into a post-COVID world, a significant push will be required to turn around this disruption into a strong recovery that does not leave the impoverished behind. Mahmoud is the current executive director of the International Monetary Fund. Previously, he served as the World Bank Group’s Senior Vice President for the 2030 Development Agenda, UN Relations, and Partnerships, as Minister of Investment of Egypt from 2004 until 2010, and many other relevant positions. His professional experience extends into the academic arena as a Professor of Economics at Cairo University and as a Visiting Professor at renowned Universities. Mahmoud is one of the most influential figures in international finance today and is leading sustainable investing practices worldwide. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at [ Ссылка ]
