Germany advanced into Belgium during World War Two. They occupied Belgium and continued to advance into other countries until finally being pushed back and stopped in 1945. They held control of the FN factory and production of certain weapons ceased.
The Browning A5 was a very popular shotgun at the time, but due to German occupation, Fabrique Nationale got got with Remington to produce the A5 under license. So from 1940 up until 1945, Remington made around 850,000 A5 shotguns for Browning.
