The Chinese government again tried to shift blame to India for the recent border provocation in Ladakh. On September 7, Chinese troops tried to close in on a forward position of the Indian Army. They even fired shots to try and intimidate the Indian side. However, a day after the incident at the southern bank of the Pangong Tso in eastern Ladakh, Beijing tried to paint a wildly different and false picture. China claimed that it was the Indian side which crossed the Line of Actual Control and fired shots. Beijing has been trying to play such a game for months, ever since its first aggressive action along the LAC. Significantly, the latest provocation comes days after a meeting between India and China's defence ministers in Moscow. Moreover, the two nations' foreign ministers are also scheduled to meet soon.
