Thabo Bester and his nine co-accused have once again appeared in court in relation to his escape from prison. In May 2022, Bester faked his death in a fire and escaped from the Mangaung Correctional Centre. The truth of his escape came to light last year, and was confirmed when Bester was spotted in public alongside his partner, Dr Nandipha Magudumana.
