The super cool shamisen technique "hajiki" (ハ) (pull-off with the left hand) also comes in a double-hajiki-combo (ハハ)!
The most common case for tsugaru shamisen music will be 4-3-0 with 3 and 0 being played with "hajiki". Let's take this example to explain how to do this.
#1: press position 4 with your ring finger and position 3 with your index finger. Keep both fingers pressed.
#2: strike the 4 with your bachi
#3: pull of your ringfinger from position 4 while having the 3 firmly pressed with your index so the 3 will sound
#4: pull off your index finger from position 3 to make the 0 sound.
The faster you do it the easier it is. But remember to be in time and follow the beat to make the hajiki sound clear and beautiful and give each note the necessary room to develop its full sound!
