The Russian armed forces brought some of its military hardware to central Moscow on May 2 ahead of a nighttime rehearsal on Red Square for the annual World War Two Victory Day on May 9.
President Vladimir Putin is expected to lead events in Moscow on May 9 marking the 79th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany.
This year, same as the last and 2022, the Victory Day parade will be held amid the conflict in Ukraine, which Russia calls a "special military operation".
Since 2008, Victory Day parades have become a muscular display not only of marching battalions but also of Russia's latest weaponry, including warplanes, tanks, and nuclear-capable intercontinental ballistic missiles.
