The connections between E-102 Gamma and Android 16 are that they are robots created by evil geniuses (Dr. Eggman and Dr. Gero) for their most popular series of mechanical fighters (E-Series and Androids) to bring world domination and getting their vengeance of the spikey haired main protagonist that ruined their plans (Sonic and Goku). Despite being built for combat, both are hardly seen fighting in their respective series, as both of them would find a great curiosity for the life of living beings, and eventually turned to the side of good. When changing their side of morality, they would go on to help the heroes to prevent the antagonists of their stories conquer/destroy the world. Even though they contrast as to how their actions involving their mechanical siblings are (Android 16 being allies and always fought beside Android’s 17 and 18, whereas E-102 Gamma having turned on E-101, E-103, E-104 and E-105 to free their captured animals), both would give it their all by going solo to defeat the ones created to be superior to them (E-101 Alpha Mk. II and Cell, respectfully), eventually being put out of commission because of them. It was because of their influences as characters that not only proves that even robots have souls in them, but their actions also helped one of the most looked down upon characters become stronger as they continue with their own adventures (E-102 Gamma with Amy, allowing her to become more independent and actually fight alongside Sonic & Co., and Android 16 with Gohan, who’s death enraged him to become stronger to save the world).
