Frédéric Mazzella: "Hiring Success at BlaBlaCar

Yeah, BlaBlaCar has been growing a lot. We're still doubling in traffic like every year. We have our employees/staff which is doubling it's share as well. We're now in 19 countries. We've got a community of 20 million members sharing rides.

Yeah, I'm very happy. The thing is, it's the kind of tool when you deploy it in the company, you have a bit of fear because you're like 'ok this will impact the entire company at once.' And the thing is since we've introduced it, it has solved the problem we had which was we were not able to treat all the resumes we were receiving. We receive thousands of resumes per month.

We are able to now recruit faster, in a better way. We're using all the tools.

So, you have to put in place processes to make sure that you hire the best talent. So what we've been doing, is we've been using SmartRecruiters as an ATS to help our funnel of recruitment, and to actually transform the entire company into a recruiting team, because now everyone in the company, all the managers are able to handle their recruitments themselves. And it makes the team very autonomous to be able to recruit the best talent they see by themselves without having too much processes, it's really a SaaS platform which really helps.

When the team is involved in recruiting, then everybody is on board to actually recruit the person who's missing and when the person arrives, they have seen everybody in the team, we all know this is the right person to hire and it goes faster in onboarding as well.

Nobody has been complaining about the solution, which is a good sign. And everybody is using it: we see the usage metrics. It's been very easy to integrate into the company.
