A 31 foot tall globe landmark was stollen from the Mall of Asia in Manila.
Footage circulated on social media from a dashcam of a helicopter taking away the giant globe landmark.
The mall itself posted a notice on facebook that they were working with authorities and to rest assured the mall was safe.
Many people were speculating this was a marketing stunt since it made no sense given the globe is not worth the effort to steal, its not made of gold or anything like that nor could you really put it anywhere discreet given its size, so what would anyone do with it.
Within hours the globe was placed back and it was revealed to be a marketing stunt from Netflix to promote the film Red Notice.
The whole thing is bizarre as to what purpose this served, sure it got people talking but more in a manner of just wondering why do this of all things you could do to promote a film, especially when so many assumed it was marketing from the start.
