NEW: JOIN ME ON PATREON: [ Ссылка ]
Italian police raided an underground bunker in the countryside of Maropati, Reggio Calabria, in the country’s south, finding two “super fugitives” — ’Ndrangheta’ clan bosses Giuseppe Crea, who had been on the run for 10 years, and Giuseppe Ferraro, who has been wanted for almost 20, authorities announced Jan. 29, 2016.
With them in the bunker was food and an arsenal of firearms, including an assault rifle, all neatly hanging on a wall.
Prosecutors said they were “living like animals” in the remote mountain hideout but were in contact with underlings and maintained control of their respective criminal organizations.
The ’Ndrangheta — the proper name of the Mafia that formed in Calabria, the toe on the boot-shaped map of Italy — have a long tradition of using bunkers, tunnels and hide-aways to protect bosses from arrest and keep fugitives out of prison.
