Soon we’ll tackle the Lowest To Highest Route, walking from Death Valley, at 282 feet (86 meters) below sea level, to Mt. Whitney, at an elevation of 14,505 feet (4,421 meters). There’s no guarantee we’ll complete the trip — we’re doing this late in the season to avoid Death Valley’s heat, but that means storms on Mt. Whitney might cut it short. As of today, the weather is cooperating! We’ve been looking forward to this trip for a year! We can’t wait to connect the lowest and highest points in the contiguous with one continuous footpath!
