No we're not creating a whole new species yet. But this development definitely shows that we can create animals with human tissues in them. Why you ask? Scientists are looking for ways to grow human organs using stem cells. We'll start with growing organs like the liver and kidneys in monkeys. Perhaps one day, we could even create monkeys with human brains.
