Impeached South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol defies arrest warrant amid political turmoil. On Dec 3, police officials entered President yoon's compound in a bid to detain him. However, police waited outside Yoon’s residence for hours, unable to execute a court-issued warrant due to legal protections around military-linked locations. Furthermore, thousands of Yoon's supporters who were camping near his residence tried to block the officials. 'It’s deeply regrettable' that Yoon has refused to comply with the legal process, said the police. The warrant, valid for one week, follows Yoon's controversial martial law declaration on December 3, which was overturned by parliament within hours. Yoon was impeached on December 14 for rebellion, with investigations launched into his actions.
