Molasses product loading was a feature of the Queensland rail scene for many years. The molasses loading was railed from North Queensland to the Darling Downs in southern Queensland. The product is used to feed cattle.
On 1 March, 2007, a regular working, Train Number 6E88 was bound for Warwick on the southern Darling Downs when the crew experienced problems with the Multiple Unit Jumper Cable.
A rescue effort was made with locomotives dispatched from Toowoomba to assist with the assault of the Toowoomba Range.
