Patrick Brown is vowing to fight his disqualification from the Conservative leadership race in Canada.
He has recruited high-profile lawyer Marie Henein, best known for successfully defending Jian Ghomeshi. In a notice of appeal to the Conservative party, she writes that “Brown has engaged in absolutely no misconduct” and called the process “Kafkaesque.”
She asked the leadership committee to keep all documents and records, including communications with members of the Pierre Poilievre campaigns, relating to Brown. Both the Poilievre camp and the party deny the complaints came from the top-rival.
As Abigail Bimman explains, experts say why Brown’s fight will be an uphill battle and how there are increasing calls for more light to be shed on the allegations against Brown.
