Raspberry Pi 5 has an inbuilt composite video output, but it is only available through 2 contacts on its PCB. How to add connector? How to use composite video? How to save a stuck composite video or HDMI mode.
NOTE:
Composite video only works with Wayfire environment, while X11 environment cannot display a low resolution picture and the screen will remain blank. To select the appropriate environment use sudo raspi-config command and select Advanced options. Then select Wayland and choose between the two environments. However, in Wayfire environment you may experience some difficulties such as being unable to make a screenshot or record a video with vokoscreenNG... You will also have to manually revert to HDMI mode, if you enable composite video output while X11 is selected.
REMARK:
Raspberry Pi 5 has a composite video output on J7, only. S-Video output is similar, but not the same, however a composite signal may easily be made from an S-Video signal.
