BUREK / PITA Recipe 🔥🇷🇸🇸🇮🇲🇰🇦🇱🇭🇷🇸🇰🇲🇪🇽🇰
Phyllo pastry
- 500g bread fluor
- 400g water
- 1 tablespoon of salt (15 ml)
- 2 table spoons of rapeseed oil (30 ml)
Zucchini filling
- 500g of cottage cheese
- 2 whole zucchinis
- 2 tablespoons of rape seed oil (30 ml)
- 1/2 tablespoon of salt
Cheese filling
- 750g of cottage cheese
- 1 egg
- 2 tablespoons of rape seed oil
- 1/2 tablespoon of salt
1. Prepare your dough with listed ingredients. You want to have a moist dough. Add only flower to your counter top and let the kneeding do the work of shaping the dough in to a firm bouncy consistency. Let the dough rest in a plastic bowl for 25 minutes under a plastic foil.
2. While waiting mix your fillings.
3. After 25 minutes roll out your dough EVENLY! Add oil on top and let sit for another 25 minutes.
4. Stretch out the dough lightly with your knuckles and put in on a table with a big cloth.
5. Stretch out your dough PATIENTLY little by little working around the circled shape. Don’t mind if any holes occur.
6. Add your filling on the edges. Cover the edge with dough and roll the dough with your cloth.
7. Cut your burek/pita into desired shape and add extra oil on top of the pita before putting it in the oven!
