One week after the start of the German invasion of Poland on September 1st, 1939, German forces reached the outskirts of Warsaw, the capital of Poland, on September 8th. The Germans tried to quickly take the city, but their initial advance was repulsed by the defenders, and the city was surrounded and besieged by the Germans. During the next few weeks, Warsaw was heavily bombed by German planes.
On September 26th, the Germans launched a major attack with 9 divisions, and Warsaw surrendered on September 28th. The Germans occupied the city on October 1st.
The following is an issue of the Degeto Weltspiegel, a silent newsreel report about the surrender of Warsaw, showing footage of German units attacking the city, bombing raids and the surrender of Polish troops. It also shows footage from the German victory parade in Warsaw, held on October 5th.
As there is no sound or text cards, there are no subtitles this time.
