Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a game created by Grey Matter Interactive for single player and Nerve Software for multiplayer. The game was published by Activision and was released in November 19, 2001. id Software was credited as the executive producers after they oversaw its development. The game is a re-imagination of the original Wolfenstein 3D running the Quake 3 Arena (aka the id Tech 3) engine. The multiplayer portion was released as a free stand alone product called Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory by Splash Damage.
