#DIPHU | To Mark the 162nd Birth Anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore jayanti, a Subha Yatra (Rally) was taken out from Sitlabari mandir to Diphu Club here on Tuesday, May 9, 2023. In the subha Yatra school Students, senior citizens, and several others took part and was organised by Bangla Sahitya Kala O Sanskriti Parishad, Diphu, Karbi Anglong.
Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti, also known as Tagore's birthday, is an annual event celebrated on May 9 to commemorate the birth anniversary of the legendary poet, writer, philosopher, and polymath Rabindranath Tagore. He was the first Asian to be awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature for his collection of poems, Gitanjali. He also composed the national anthems of India and Bangladesh.
As per Bengali Calendar, ‘Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti’ is observed on the 25th day of the Bengali month of Boishakh , this day is being celebrated today, May 9
