UN ANNOUNCES TRUCE
The United Nations has announced a week long ceasefire in Yemen’s conflict. Houthi fighters and forces loyal to President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi’s exiled government will stop fighting on Friday until the end of Ramadan on July 17. UN officials said the deal will allow humanitarian aid to reach people in need across the country. The UN said last week Yemen had reached its highest scale of humanitarian emergency. According to the organisation, 15 hundred civilians have been killed and a million displaced since the Saudi Arabian-led coalition began air strikes in mid-March.
NEW DEADLINE OVER MIGRANT RELOCATION
EU ministers have failed to agree on which member states should take in 40 thousand migrants. The UN said on Wednesday that 83 percent more refugees entered Greece, Italy, Malta and Spain between January and June compared to the same period last year. Ministers will meet in Luxembourg again on July 20th to try to reach a deal.
WILDFIRES CROSS BORDER
More than ten thousand people have been evacuated from their homes as wildfires continue to sweep across provinces in western Canada. Smoke from the fires in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan has now reached the western United States. Environmental protection officials say the pollution poses health risks.

People will soon be able to log onto the internet - from the top of Mount Fuji.Japan’s leading mobile network carrier NTT Docomo is set to begin offering free Wi-Fi at the summit of the famous peak later on Friday. Japan has been expanding its free Wi-Fi network before it hosts the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and wants to attract tourists to the two towns around the mountain.
