Guest Bios: Nayara Lopes began her training in Curitiba, Brasil with Escola de Dança Teatro Guaira at age six in 1997. After winning the Silver Medal in YAGP Brasil 2007, she earned a full scholarship to the JKO School at ABT in NYC. Nayara joined Orlando Ballet II for their 2010/2011 season. After winning the “Mary Day Special Award” in YAGP 2011, she joined National Ballet of Canada as a Apprentice from 2011-2013. Nayara then danced with Dance Theater of Harlem from 2013-2016. In 2016 she joined Pennsylvania Ballet under the Directorship of Angel Corella. Nayara was promoted to Soloist in 2018 and First Soloist in 2019.
Sterling Baca grew up in Colorado, USA and began training at age 11 in 2004 with former Royal Ballet School Faculty member German Zamuel. Sterling joined the JKO School at ABT on full scholarship in 2009 and joined ABT II in 2010. He then joined ABT’s Corps de Ballet in 2011. Sterling joined Pennsylvania Ballet as a Principal Dancer in 2016 under the Artistic Directorship of Angel Corella.

Helen Pickett, native of San Diego, CA, created over 40 ballets over 15 years in the U.S. and Europe. The Crucible, her newest full length for Scottish Ballet, which premiered at Edinburgh International Festival, won two awards, UK Theatre Critics Award and the Herald Angel Award. While resident choreographer for Atlanta Ballet, 2012 – 2017, she was named Best Choreographer in 2014, for The Exiled, and in 2015, her first full length, Camino Real. Dutch National Ballet has commissioned Helen’s new full-length production, slated 2023. In addition to Helen’s contemporary ballet choreography, she has collaborated, as a choreographer and actress with installation video artists and filmmakers, including Eve Sussman, Toni Dove and Laurie Simmons. Helen danced with Ballet Frankfurt, director, William Forsythe from 1987-1998, and performed with the New York theater company Wooster Group, director, Elizabeth LeCompte, for five years. Helen created the workshop, Choreographic Essentials. In 2020, she launched her talk show, Creative Vitality Jam Sessions. On June 19th, Helen completed her first virtual Zoom choreography entitled Home Studies, and completed the Home Studies Triptych on July 12th. She earned her MFA in 2011, Hollins University. Gracie Spina Bio: Intern/Co-Producer, Assistant to HP/CVJS
Raised in Boca Raton, Florida, Gracie has danced since the age of two. Her 19 years of training include: Ballet and Pointe, Contemporary, Modern, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theater, Aerial Silks, Contortion, Acro, and Pom. Gracie worked with artists: Laurie Johnson, Martha Nichols, Katie Swords-Thurman, Tommie-Waheed Evans, Michael Sheridan, Annie White, Hannah Baumgarten, Jo Matos, Maleek Washington, Jack Bloeser, Dana Wilson, Taja Riley, Chloe Arnold, Herman Payne, Sean Green, Jonathan Bond, Ali Bramwell, David Rosales, Scott Jovovich, Eliana Girard, Helen Pickett, and Sarah Hillmer. Gracie received awards for her choreography and performance including: NYCDA's College Scholarship Foundation, awarded $48,000; NYCDA's Outstanding Dancer Runner Up, The Arts for Life Scholarship and The University of the Arts Trustee's Award for Excellence in the Arts. Gracie is a Senior at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, earning a BFA in Dance.
