Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop officiated at the opening ceremony of a new embassy building in the Indonesian capital yesterday.
The event included a smoking ceremony, an ancient aboriginal ritual that is believed to cleanse properties and ward off bad spirits with smouldering native plants.
The opening ceremony was also attended by Australian ambassador Paul Grigson and former Indonesian president BJ Habibie.
