(7 Feb 2021) SNOW BLANKETS MUCH OF THE NETHERLANDS
Snow blanketed much of the Netherlands on Sunday (7 FEBRUARY 2021), forcing the government to cancel a weekly crisis meeting to discuss the coronavirus.
Train services were suspended and Amsterdam's Schiphol Airport warned passengers of possible flight cancellations.
The snow and strong winds were expected to continue for most of the day, but it could be well into the evening before it stops in the north, weather forecasters say.
The Dutch meteorological office KNMI has increased its weather warning for Sunday to code red and covering the whole of the country.
