Belkin has combined two of the most useful MagSafe accessories to create a magnetic camera grip handle with an integrated 10,000 mAh power bank, which can significantly extend the battery life of the iPhone.
Belkin already offers a 10,000 mAh power bank with MagSafe in the BoostCharge Pro, which magnetically attaches to the Apple iPhone and charges it wirelessly with up to 15 watts via Qi2. With the new PowerGrip, Belkin is now going one step further and combining the power bank with a camera grip handle.
Belkin has placed the battery in an ergonomically shaped handle with two buttons. One of these buttons is a large camera shutter button for taking photos or making videos. Belkin is yet to describe the function of the second button, which may be used to switch between photo and video. While the iPhone's battery is charged with up to 7.5 watts via Qi2, Bluetooth is required to use the buttons, since data cannot be transmitted via the Qi charging coil.
The Belkin PowerGrip is compatible with most camera apps for iOS, including Apple's standard camera app. Belkin does not offer a dedicated app for the PowerGrip. While Belkin's camera grip has the largest battery by far, competitors such as the ShiftCam ProGrip or Leica's camera hand grip offer significantly more in terms of buttons, ergonomics and software features.
Price and availability
The Belkin PowerGrip is expected to be launched in May 2025. Information on price is still pending.
