Martin Lewis followed along on social media as Chancellor Rishi Sunak announced a raft of new measures aimed at helping millions of people across the UK through the cost of living crisis.
The money-saving expert hailed the removal of the replacement of the £200 energy 'loan-not-loan' with a £400 non-repayable grant a "good move".
Mr Sunak’s £15 billion plans included a temporary windfall tax on oil and gas giants which will raise “around £5 billion of revenue over the next year” and told MPs it was needed to help families with the cost of living as well as “avoiding burdening future generations with evermore debt today because politicians of the day were too weak to make the tough decisions.”
