"Winterdark" is the 9th track on Nick Sherman's album Drag Your Words Through. This music video was created by students in the ReelLit program at West End Alternative Secondary School in Toronto.
"I am really impressed by the video! ... I was a little worried at first because what the song is based on is pretty dark. I think this video captures some of the emotions and imagery I was trying to get across. The song was written a few years ago when several students, that had moved from their communities to go to school, went missing or were found dead. It was and still is an issue northern students face up in here in northwestern Ontario. This song was a reaction to a specific case of a young man that went missing. The city and many family members looked tirelessly for him but it was winter and it soon became apparent that he would not be found. He was discovered in the river when the ice thawed in the spring. He was one of several cases like that here in Thunder Bay."--Nick Sherman
