Audio and photos – Sven Martin interviews Yeti's Bex Baraona after her UCI Enduro Mountain Bike World Cup series win at round two of the 2023 series in Derby, Tasmania, Australia.
The Enduro World Cup (EDR) kicked off in Maydena, Tasmania, with round one before heading a few hours across the island to the fantastic trails of Blue Derby. This trail network has sprung from nothing in an area that had been otherwise forgotten when major industry left the area. Now, the town is doing a fine job of reimagining itself as a mountain bike destination we could happily visit time and time again.
The Enduro World Cup race took place in changeable conditions with heavy rain in practice and a drying, physical course for racing. Baraona kept her calm and powered on, taking the elite women's EDR win in style while her Yeti teammate Richie Rude did the same in the men's – a good day for Yeti!
