STORYLINE:
The traditional "Banda de Ipanema" took the samba and the carnival spirit to the streets of Rio de Janeiro on Saturday.
With two weeks to go until the start of the city's carnival, dancers and musicians put on a dazzling parade.
Crowds of people lined the streets to enjoy the fun.
Banda de Ipanema, which was declared part of Rio's cultural heritage in 2004, traditionally opens carnival festivities with a parade through the city's streets.
