370 firefighters have reportedly been deployed to the municipality of Cascais near Lisbon to put out a forest fire that broke out in the region on Sunday.
Footage shows fires burning in the forest as smoke rises into the sky, while firefighting trucks and helicopters work to douse the flames. Scorched earth left behind by the blaze can also be seen.
According to the local media, four civilians were injured, while around a dozen firefighters also suffered smoke inhalation or minor injuries.
The President of Cascais City Council released a statement that 'the fire is not yet under control, but it is on its way to being under control', noting that it is not currently necessary to evacuate residential areas.
At 18:00 local time (16:00 GMT) on Sunday, 370 firefighters were fighting the blaze, with the support of more than 100 vehicles and 12 aircraft.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. With around half of its territory covered by forests, Portugal is regularly hit by forest fires, especially in the summer months.
