Unlocking and locking the VSI joystick on a power wheelchair:
With the joystick powered on, press and hold the power button until an audible chirping noise is heard. Then press the joystick forward until hearing the, "chirp." Then press the joystick in reverse until the, "chirping" noise is made again. Release the joystick so that it centers and the joystick will beep. The joystick is now locked.
To unlock the joystick, turn on the joystick. Press the joystick forward until the joystick chirps. Then press reverse until it chirps again, and allow the joystick to center. Now the joystick is unlocked.
The locking method is called inhibit mode, and they power wheelchair may not be used until it is unlocked.
