Russian model Viki Odintcova risked her life for the perfect shot in Dubai. The model is pictured leaning on a high-rise building with no support or equipment except for the guy whose hand she’s holding. The man also appears not to have any support except a small beam beside him that he’s leaning on with the other hand.

2.In The Gorge Bridge With Active Trains
Rio de Janeiro's Serra do Mar features a stunning gorge bridge with active trains. For the last few years, risk-takers have made their way onto its trestles for insane selfies.Nearly a dozen people have fallen off of bridges taking selfies since 2014, including a woman who tumbled from Spain's Puente de Triana bridge.

3.Grand Canyon selfie
A woman tragically fell to her death from the Grand Canyon in 2016. While many headlines claimed she was taking a selfie when it happened, in fact she was politely squeezing out of the way for someone to pass by and stumbled over the side of the trail. Many other people take risky photos while at the landmark though, including this chap who uploaded his photo to Reddit.

4.Shenzhen, China
Another adventurer taking things to new heights. Daniel Lau has over 110k followers on IG with his crazy collection of photos on top of skyscrapers, bridges and towers. It doesn't even look like he's holding on to anything in this shot in Shenzhen China where he's towering high above the ground. His lopsided selfie is not helping matters either, it looks like he is seconds away from falling. But sure enough, he was fine and continues to post similar images to his account regularly.

5.Selfie in between pilot fighting
Imagine taking a moment to snap a selfie seconds before launching an air-to-air missile. In truth, it was captured by a GoPro in the cockpit and not by hand, but it is scary if he were to lose focus. The pilot in the shot, Thomas Kristensen is said to be an experienced pilot who has completed missions over Afghanistan, Libya and ex-Yugoslavia.

6.Daring Angela Nikolau
Like many photos on this list, this Instagram shot from Tianjin, China — taken by Angela Nikolau, who regularly risks her life in pursuit of a hair-raising pic — is hashtagged @DangerousSelfie. Some might even say it's too dangerous. (How did she even get there?!)

More people have died taking selfies than from shark attacks, so it looks like this daredevil is tempting death while encouraging others to do the same.But read the Instagram caption, and you'll see that he's actually advocating for responsible behavior. "I have been diving for over a decade and done 1000's of dives around the world," he says. "I have spent a lot of time in the water gaining experience. It is important that you get specific training before just jumping in the water with sharks. It's better for us and the sharks this way."

8.Antarctica - Have You Not Seen Titanic?
Has this guy not seen Titanic? While this is definitely something you need to see in Antarctica, it's maybe not the best idea to risk falling into the ice cold water. Even with spiked hiking boots, it's really slippery and dangerous.It does make for a stunning photograph though so props to him. If you haven't made a trip to Antarctica yet then you definitely should—just take safe selfies.

9.Mount Hua, China
No doubt you’ve seen pictures of Mount Hua’s notorious wooden walkway – basically a series of planks of wood perched on the side of a 7,087-foot-highcliff.So has everyone else on Instagram, and now it has become the place to take a selfie when visiting this part of China.The mountain is one of five sacred peaks in the Shaanxi province, and while the rickety paths have been reinforced to accommodate the increasing number of tourists, it is still dangerous. Chinese officials are tight-lipped about the number of accidents, but locals suggest it is well over 100.
