Ingredient List:
Fish 700 gram (Rohu) मछली
Mustard Oil 100 ml सरसो तेल
Onion 3 pc प्याज़
Salt 2 tsp नमक
Green Chili 4 pc हरी मिर्च
Coriander leaf 4 tsp धनिआ पत्ता
Curry Leaf 1 tsp करी पत्ता इमली
Tamarind 2 tsp इमली
Turmeric powder 1 tsp हल्दी पाउडर
Red chili powder 1 tsp लाल मिर्च पाउडर
Coriander Powder 2 tsp धनिआ पाउडर
Cumin powder 1 tsp जीरा पाउडर
Black pepper powder ¼ tsp काली मिर्च पाउडर
Ginger paste 1 tsp अद्रक पेस्ट
Garlic paste 1 full tsp लहसुन पेस्ट
Asafoetida seed 2 pinch अज्वाइन
Kashmiri Red chili powder ¼ tsp कश्मीरी लाल मिर्च पाउडर

Method to cook imli wali fish curry or Tamarind Fish Curry Recipe/इमली वाली फिश करी/ املی والا مچھلی کا سالن / املی مچھلی سالن
Tamarind Fish Curry Recipe / इमली वाली फिश करी बनाने का तरीका
Step 1:
Wash fish in water for 2 times and then add turmeric and salt in fish, mix well and wash fish again using water. Set fish aside for 5-10 minute to drain off water.
Step 2:
Add red chili powder and salt in fish mix well and set aside for 5 minute. In a bowl take 8 table spoon water, add coriander powder, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, black pepper powder and mix well and set aside.
Step 3:
Switch on gas, heat a cooking pan, add mustard oil/cooking oil in hot pan and heat oil on high flame. Bring down flame to medium heat and add ½ table spoon salt in oil to avoid sticking fish pieces in pan and fry fish. Fry fish in oil for 5 minutes each side, set fried fish aside.
Add chopped onion in same hot oil and fry until light golden color. Add ginger and garlic paste in fried onion and fry together for 2 minute on medium heat. Add spice mix in frying onion and fry for 3-4 minute, add curry leaf and one cup water in spices. Cover the pan lid and cook for 5 minute. Then uncover pan & fry spices for 3-4 minute more or until oil separates from spices. Add curry leaf, asafoetida seed (ajwain) 2 pinches, salt, and Kashmiri red chili powder, mix well. Add tamarind water with pulp 7 tsp filtering using a filter, and cook tamarind pulp with spices for 2-3 minute. Add green chili, add 2 cup water to make fish curry with tamarind.
Cover pan lid and let curry boil for 3-4 minute and then add fried fish in curry. Handle fish in curry with care while dipping fish pieces in curry. Cover pan lid and cook for 4 minute.
Step 4: Uncover lid of pan, add 3-4 table spoon of fresh green coriander leaf in tamarind fish curry. Switch off stove and cover pan lid and let is settle for 3-4 minute. Tasty fish curry with tamarind is done.
Mouth watering, delicious tamarind fish curry is ready. Enjoy tamarind fish curry hot with rice, bread, rice polao or with paratha or tanduri naan.
