Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has met Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull in Canberra. Wang said both countries should send a clear message to the world that they are committed to building an open economy, maintaining an international trading system, and opposing trade protectionism. Turnbull echoed his comments, adding that the liberalization of trade was in the interests of both countries and the rest of the world. He said he hoped to maintain high-level exchanges with China, strengthen their cooperation in business and trade, and bring their comprehensive partnership to a new level.
