This is a short film from the Barking and Dagenham Local Account. This film focuses on informal carers, particularly the experiences of Melanie, who cares for her daughter Cody. The film also looks at the work that has been undertaken around carers in the Borough following the introduction of the Care Act 2014.
The Local Account is the Council’s statement to the local community about the quality of adult social care services in Barking and Dagenham.
Normally we produce the Local Account in a document format. However, this year we have produced it as a video. The video stars some of our residents, council staff and staff who work in other services who support people, such as care homes. They tell you about their personal experiences and their feedback on Social Care services in the Borough.
