Reports of child abuse within the social services system have been on the rise in Florida. Working with over a dozen sources, we helped to prove that the Florida Department of Children and Families’ (DCF) child protective investigators are juggling more caseloads than they can handle. Many can’t take care of the large number of children they are supposed to protect, and sadly children have died as a result. Our DCF story shines a light on the children who have fallen through the cracks, the broken system and what is now being done to save the lives of innocent children.
