the first time i heard letters to god by boxcar racer, something clicked inside of me. i'd never really considered my own mortality until then.

twenty years later, i recorded this cover between the third- and second-last times i saw my dad.
thankfully, i finished it while he was still able to hear it.
i'd brought a bluetooth speaker to his room the week prior, so he could supplement the symphony of machines with his own music.

the last thing that we ever did together, just the two of us, was listen to this recording.
he believed in what i'm doing, so i think he would've wanted me to release this cover publicly. thank you for letting me share this with you.
