Today we join a diverse group of students from all over the globe in celebration of International Day of Mother Tongue. Speaking one's native language, coming from the heart brings authenticity and freedom of expression. Different cultures, different languages all come together through one common interest, love for the African bush.
UNESCO believes in the importance of cultural and linguistic diversity for sustainable societies. It is within its mandate for peace that it works to preserve the differences in cultures and languages that foster tolerance and respect for others.
What does speaking your native language mean to you? Drop us a comment below and let us know, we love to hear from you.
