Mexico's attorney general has vowed to revive the investigation into the 1994 assassination of a presidential candidate that three special prosecutors have failed to solved.
Luis Donaldo Colosio was shot to death in March 1994 but the motives behind the assassination remain a mystery.
Antonio Lozano Gracia rejected a proposal to take over the case himself but said his office will reinforce the investigation.
Attorney General Antonio Lozano Gracia announced the move to revive the investigation into the assassination of presidential candidate Luis Donaldo Colosio at a news conference in Mexico City Wednesday.
Lozano offered no hint about who will take over the probe.
He rejected a proposal by lawmakers to take over the case himself.
Lozano also ruled out a shakeup of the investigative team and refused to speculate about when the inquiry will end.
So far one man has been arrested but his testimony lacks credibility.

Luis Donaldo Colosio - a candidate for the ruling Institutional Revolutionary Party - was shot to death at a Tijuana rally on March 23 1994.
A man arrested at the scene - Mario Aburto - was convicted of firing at Colosio.
He was sentenced to more than 40 years in prison.
Another man - Othon Cortes Vazquez - was later arrested and accused of being the second gunman in the attack.
Cortes was released from jail two weeks ago after a judge ruled that federal prosecutors had failed to prove the accusations against him.
Despite the court's decision investigators are still not convinced about Cortes' innocence.

Mexicans have raised all types of conspiracy theories around the crime - including one that involves former President Carlos Salinas de Gortari.
Many Mexicans doubt the truth will ever emerge but they hope investigators will one day solve one of the nation's biggest mysteries and bring Colosio's killers to justice.
